Must Have Thanksgiving Items

Thanksgiving is almost here! Keep your décor and feasting ideas fresh with a few must have items.  Although the feast is likely the highlight of every Thanksgiving family get together, it is not the only necessity.  Decorations have a huge impact on how spectacular your feast may be.  You may have heard that when it comes to food, presentation is half of the battle, so dress up your home to add to the coziness that the holiday brings.  Give your family a new way to reflect on their year and to give evidence of the things they are truly grateful for, by incorporating a “Book of Thanks.”

Don’t Let Your Thanksgiving Celebration Be Without…

Give thanks Picture Scrapbook/ Album- Even though many families seem to forget about the reason Thanksgiving was initially started, and tend to look forward to the deluxe meal they will feast upon, don’t forget to give thanks.  A great idea that will set this Thanksgiving get together apart from all of those of the past is to ask family and friends to write a short sentence stating the things they are grateful for.  Purchase a scrapbook to begin this wonderful family tradition and pages can be added each year.  It is a perfect way to look back on each year and reflect on all of your family’s blessings.  Add a group picture to see your family’s growth each year.  Your “Book of Thanks” could become a treasured family heirloom that you look forward to reading year after year.

Feather Wreath- One holiday that calls for a door wreath is Christmas, but why should Christmas have all of the great décor?  Purchase feathers wholesale to create an easy and inexpensive holiday wreath.  Think of fall colors and textures that can be incorporated into your wreath such as burlap, twine, craft feathers, pheasant feathers, and artificial leaves.  Complete the look with a colorful bow and your door will welcome guests this Thanksgiving.

Pumpkins & Gourds- Nothing says fall much like pumpkins and gourds.  The cheerful orange hues of pumpkins and the whimsical shapes of gourds are a perfect combination to add a touch of fall to your holiday table.  Gather an assortment of pumpkins and oddly shaped gourds to arrange on your porch, table tops and mantle to bring nature to your home.  Don’t get stuck on one size or color.  If you visit your grocery store or a local farm you may find pumpkins in colors and shapes that you’ve never seen before.  Check out fairytale pumpkins as a whimsical and romantic option.
