Ways to keep your hair healthy and pretty
Hair is a source of confidence and vanity for most women. We pride ourselves on having healthy hair that we can run our fingers through. There are some simple tips to follow to keep or regain health, strength and shine to your precious locks.
Moisturize- If you have ever gone too longer even one wash without applying a good hair conditioner you will notice a dramatic difference. Just try brushing out damp hair without moisturizing and your brush will not easily escape the tangles of your locks. Be sure to purchase a quality conditioner that will allow hair to stay soft as well as manageable and apply after each wash.
Don't Blow Dry too Often/Long- Although blow outs, or professionally blow dried hair has become a hot trend in 2012, too much blow drying can dehydrate hairs natural conditioners. If you are a habitual blow dryer be sure to stop drying before hair is bone dry. Let the ends air dry so they wont become frail and broken.
Soft Brush Hair Regularly- The old movie stars were on to something with constant brushing of their hair. Purchase a soft bristled brush to use daily on hair. Brush from roots to ends to spread natural oils throughout your hair. Get into a routine of 30 sweeps of the brush a day to keep hair healthy and naturally shiny.
Sunblock Seal Ends- If you want to keep hair healthy in between trims place a dollop of sunblock on hands and coat the ends of hair. You of course will not want to go out in public with weighted down, greasy hair, so this treatment is an option you will want to reserve for the times you are at home watching a chick flick.
Don't Wear Heavy Embellishments- Constant tight pony tails and heavy hair extensions are damaging to hair. They pull and break the hair and can even cause headaches. Opt for lightweight alternatives such as hair feathers and cute clips. Guinea hen feathers can make beautiful feather extensions and can be temporarily clipped into and removed from hair with no fuss.
