D.I.Y Feather Valentine's Day Card

Fancy Kid’s Valentine’s Day Card with Feather Embellishments!

Talk about spending quality time with my 3 year old. She loves doing activities, be it making pizza with daddy or scrapbooking with mommy. This year we wanted to do something fun to celebrate Valentine’s Day. So we have decided to hand make some simple Valentine’s Day cards using feathers as embellishments for all her friends at pre-school. All 19 of them!

I start with all the materials laid out. My daughter already has her little pink scissors in-hand and ready to cut! There is just something about cutting that fascinates her. She even cut her dress one time but, of course, she got a time out for that.

My turkey feathers and guinea feathers came in a big pack. Some of the feathers are suited to my project and some are not. I start by sorting out the feathers I want so I don’t have to do it later when I have glue all over my hands

Here is what you need
1. Patterned Paper
2. Felt Stickers (got it from Michael’s)
3. Turkey Feathers
4. Guinea Feathers
5. Flower Resin
6. E-6000 Glue ( you can use hot glue if you like )

Start by cutting the patterned paper into 3 x 4 inch rectangles and round the edges.

Layer turkey feathers and guinea feathers on top of the card with bigger feathers first then followed by smaller feathers, but no glue yet. Wait until you are happy with the arrangement before using glue. I love using these feathers because they are soft and easy to play with! You can ask your little one help trim the feathers to fit in your card!

Glue feathers together after you are happy with the arrangement.

Lastly, embellish the card with some felt stickers and flower cabochons!

In less than 2 minutes you made a card that is truly unique and will put a smile on many little kids’ face!
