If you have a skirt that needs a bit more length, or maybe just a bit more pizazz, then feathers are the perfect solution.  There are feather trims available for purchase that will suit this craft perfectly.  These trims come in many different feathers and colors and are often available for purchase by the yard.  Follow these instructions to create a beautiful one of a kind skirt.

You will need:

sewing machine / fabric glue

Straight pins

Scissors

Skirt

Feather trims (ostrich, rooster, pheasant, goose and so much more!)

Instructions:

♥ Prepare your favorite skirt for a makeover by trimming any frayed edges or doing a quick iron of the hemline.

♥ Once you have purchased your favorite feathered trim (we recommend Rooster Neck Hackle Feather Trim for a romantic accent, or Pheasant Feather Plumage Trim for an Indian inspired skirt) begin by attaching it to the underside of the hem with straight pins, so that only the feathers will be visible on the outside.

♥ Measure and cut the feathered trim so that it will perfectly match the circumference of the skirts hem.

♥ Fit your sewing machine with a color coordinated spool of thread or glue the feather trim straight to the skirt using fabric glue.

♥ As you begin to sew the Feather Trim to your skirt, remove the pins that held the trim in place.

♥ Do a few finishing stitches on the skirt and cut and knot the thread ends.

Voila! Just like that you have a designer style skirt to wear out on your next special occasion.
