Share
Ostrich feathers are a wonderful choice for an elegant centerpiece, and this DIY tutorial will show you a simple way to dress up your next holiday event!
Supplies you’ll need:
20-30 pcs. 14-17” Ostrich Drab Body Feathers
24” clear vase
Enough filler beads to fill your vase
1 string of floral lights
1 small floral foam cone or foam bouquet holder
Optional:
a funnel (to help fill your vase with beads)
glittery floral picks or greenery
Step 1:
Insert the string of floral lights as far into the vase as they will go.
Step 2:
Fill the vase with the filler beads, using a funnel if necessary, until it is all the way full.
Step 3:
Take the floral cone or bouquet holder and insert it into the top of the vase, pushing it securely in place. If you wish to add some glitter or color using floral picks or greenery, push these into the base of the foam as the bottom layer of the arrangement.
Step 4:
Begin pushing the ostrich feathers straight into the foam one at a time, starting with a row at the bottom and working your way up. When you get closer to the top, begin pushing the feathers down into the foam at a higher angle to add more volume and shape to the centerpiece.
Step 5:
Once you have filled in the centerpiece completely, use any leftover feathers to fill in whatever gaps you see and then you are done!
