December Birthday Decorations Along with the lead up to December, comes Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, holiday decorating, and of course, the usual bills to pay. With all of the frenzy that this wintry time brings some families have the added planning and stress of a December birthday. It’s not the fault of the birthday boy or girl who was born on this splendidly eventful month. However, they often feel like their birthday is a burden or an added stressful event. Where money is already tight during the holidays, learn how to put together a December birthday party on a budget, while making the birthday honoree feel special. If you are a parent or spouse of a December birthday boy or girl try not to show your stress. Make them feel special and put on a smile by throwing a fun holiday party. Plan and purchase items months in advance to keep tension levels down and your budget under control.
Food: Chili Boats are a perfect December birthday party lunch or dinner. It can be fed to guests in mass quantities very inexpensively. Not only is it a savory winter food it is filling and steaming hot. Buy bulk packages of chips and shredded cheese. Make chili and keep it warmed in a crock pot. Extra toppings such as salsa, olives and sour cream can be on hand for tasty additions.
Drinks: Lemonade and tea are inexpensive options of beverages for any party, however they can be ordinary and lack luster. Consider having a coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider bar. With a few thermoses of boiling water and some cocoa and cider packets you will have the basis for a fun drink bar. Complete the bar with toppings such as: marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, peppermint sticks, caramel syrup and whipped cream.
Decorations: It may be tricky to decorate for a birthday party in a home that is already decorated for Christmas. It makes little sense to take down Christmas décor, so you may have to add color coordinated decorations. Purchase silver, gold, white, red or green balloons to add a party staple. Add color coordinated peacock feathers to your Christmas tree. Create banners and birthday signs in Christmas colors, as well.
Party Favors: Appreciate your guests by giving out cool party favors. For young to teen girls you could give out hair feather extensions as favors. For boys a thoughtful gift is candy. Super-sized chocolate candy bars will light up any boy’s eyes.
