Feathers in the Fashion World

Feathers – How to make use of them in the fashion world

Fashion has an entirely different regard for feathers – it’s a treasure to behold, an accessory worthy of attention. With its classic beauty, no one will be able to resist its captivating pull. If you want all eyes on you in the runway, you need to know how and when to use them to bolster your style. After all, feathers are not entirely harmless; it needs styling as with everything else.

Different feathers and how to use them

Peacock feathers
Peacock feathers are one of the all time favorites in the fashion arena and heaven forbid that they be unattractive for a second. It contains a combination of green, purple, black and gold hues that can easily earn someone’s admiration. If you are to use this as your fashion accessory, make sure that you’re going for the fierce or strong look. Its strong color combinations can be very wrong if you’re going for the chic effect. Be sure to use peacock feathers with prudence as it can have that very intense effect. As it is, it can make or break your fashion entrée.

Ostrich feathers
Ostrich feathers are much safer to wear than peacock feathers. It contains a neutral hue, so it can blend well with almost every fabric material (in whatever color too). However, it doesn't have an effect as striking and as intense as that of peacock feathers. What it gives you is a rather subtle accent – the last piece missing to make things officially perfect. It would only boost what is already there and it might not always be able to entirely save the day.

Angel wing feathers are mostly used, well, in wing accessories. Though it may not find application in the casual party, it would really bring an eye-catching, awe-inspiring entrance in the runway. Just take a look at those Victoria’s Secret Angels and you’d clearly see the point. Nowadays, angel wing feathers are also used in some accessories like earrings and hats. While this may look exceedingly beautiful, be mindful because these bits are delicate and should be properly maintained.
