Feel Great. Wear Blue!

Feel Great, Wear Blue this Winter!
When picturing hues of blue, many people’s minds go to dreary places. They think of somber renaissance art and periods of melancholy. Blue has broken out of the box and lead the way as a happy color. In the workplace a navy power suit is just as confident as black or khaki, and in the fashion world blue is beautiful.
Think of your grandmothers old plates when choosing your shade of blue. Remember the ones with the royal blue accents or windmills on display in her china cabinet? It appears that all these years later, she may have been savvy to the hottest color trend to sweep 2012.
Where can blue fit into your wardrobe?
Hair-We are not recommending that to keep with the latest trend you dye your mane a royal shade like Katy Perry, but there are some blue colored options to try. If you like the trendier statement of wearing hair feather extensions purchase a few rooster feathers to update your style while incorporating royal blue into your “do.” Peacock feathers naturally have royal blue plumes, so why not purchase a hair feather clip with the bold feather to dress up your hair. Or you can make your own peacock feather headband. You can find the tutorial here.

Accessories- Purses, bubbly earrings and bracelets are perfect places to sport royal blue. Purchase items to compliment your clothing ensemble. The deep blue is very inviting and the cheerful hue will keep you in high spirits. A skinny royal blue belt will add a sophisticated pop of color to white work slacks, and paired with a matching colored clutch, you will be unstoppable.
Shoes- Royal blue shoes are a show stopper. Strappy, lace-up, heels with open cutouts are a confident and romantic accent to a sexy, high-style look. These shoes should be kept for special occasions instead of everyday use. Leave your day to day shoes restricted to more neutral colors…especially while in the workplace. If you choose a more impactful shoe such as a boot, pick an ankle bootie so that the color doesn’t overwhelm your outfit, much like a knee high blue boot would.
Clothing- In tribute to that classic blue and white porcelain china, a white loose dress with a fun blue print can be both elegant and feminine. For the workplace a royal blue item that will maintain order while getting any job done is a pencil skirt or a ruffle collared blouse. Keep it simple, unless your suit is entirely blue or you choose to wear a royal blue dress, limit clothing to a single item in the bold shade (top or bottom).
