Painted Feather Bookmark
When I think of fall weather, I often think of sweaters, lattes, and curling up under a cozy blanket with a good book. This Painted Feather Bookmark tutorial will help you mark your page all season long.
Supplies:
Long, Sturdy Feather (We recommend the Goose Satinettes ) Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Suede Cording
Beads
Glue Gun
Hot Glue Sticks Instructions:
The first thing we’re going to do is paint the feather. You can paint a pattern, an animal, your name, or something in the theme of your book. Once you have painted on your feather, wait for it to dry completely before moving on to the next step. Acrylic dries pretty quickly, so depending on how thick you painted, it could take as little as 15 minutes or up to an hour.
Once the paint has dried, you can cut a piece of suede cording to about 7 inches. Carefully apply a line of hot glue to the quill of the feather and begin to wrap your suede around it. Slide on a few beads to the end of the suede and tie a knot to secure them.
Your bookmark is ready to slip into your favorite fall novel.
