Spooky Eyeball Feather Wreath - Halloween DIYs
Share
We’re almost to fall and that means Halloween is approaching soon! Time to get ready with decorations and costumes galore. This project is an easy way to decorate your door for those trick-or-treaters that will be coming on Halloween night, complete with some spooky fake eyeballs. Grab some supplies and let’s get started!
Supplies you’ll need:
-Large foam wreath form
-Black acrylic paint
-Paintbrush
-Hot glue
-Glue gun
-10-15 Ping-Pong balls
-Permanent markers in black, blue, red, and green colors
-Floral pins
-2 Black Chandelle Feather Boa (2 yards each)
Step 1:
Take your black paint and paintbrush and begin painting the wreath form black. You only need one coat and it does not need to be perfect since the feathers will be covering most of the wreath form anyways. Let dry.
Step 2:
Start creating your spooky eyeballs! Take a Ping-Pong ball and draw a circle in the middle of it with the black permanent marker to create the pupil. Fill in the circle and then grab a blue or green marker and color around the pupil to create the iris. Finally, take the red permanent marker and draw veins starting at the bottom of the ball and going up towards the pupil and iris that you just drew. Draw veins all around the eyeball and repeat the whole drawing process with each Ping-Pong ball.
Step 4:
Using your glue gun, attach a floral pin to each eyeball with a small drop of hot glue. Let dry.
Step 5:
Start attaching one black chandelle feather boa to the wreath form using the floral pins to hold it in place. Wrap the boa around the form, add a pin or two, and repeat until the whole thing is covered with both boas! Do a quick double check to see that they are held tightly to the form and add any extra floral pins if necessary.
Step 6:
Attach the eyeballs by pushing their floral pins into the foam form. Sprinkle them throughout the wreath until they are nicely arranged! Hang your new spooky wreath on your door and you are ready for Halloween!
