Still in ♥ with pastels!

Soften Up Your Look with Pastels

Out of the four seasons pastels are mostly associated with spring. Pale shades of blooming flowers and robins egg blue are prevalent in everything from nature to clothing once springtime comes around. One season that often gets left out in the cold when it comes to pastel colors is winter but no more, winter is the second trendiest season to sport pastels.

With all of the snuggly wool sweaters, fluffy scarves, and toasty turtle necks, winter is the perfect time to romanticize your look with pale shades. All of the soft textures that make up much of winter clothing items combined with the soft colors of spring make for the perfect pairing.

Sweaters- Soft and warm fabrics are always popular sweater qualities. This year, play off the soft material by purchasing a sweater in a pastel color. Rose, peach, sea foam green and robins egg blue are the best pastel options this winter. Keep away from plunging sweater necklines or material that is too bulky, those will not be flattering options.

Pants-White pants are not limited to pre-labor day months any longer. Break out your white Sunday slacks to wear in the winter. You will be a stand out in the dreary days of winter in your stark white bottoms. Be sure to starch, iron and wear neutral colored undergarments.

Blouses- Soft textures such as silk can be further feminized by their color. Rose petal and golden yellow are sophisticated and sexy. Pair short sleeve blouses with a warm cardigan or jacket to stay insulated while in your cool colors.

Shoe- Neutral shoes are a winter time asset. Bold black boots and strappy shoes are best suited for fall and winter evenings. Wear a pair of off white flats for casual outings and a pair of nude heels with metallic embellishments are great for work or afternoon festivities. Knee-high tan boots will keep you warm, stylish and romantically chic this winter. oes

Handbag- Ditch the heavy purse in shiny patented leather and opt for a more chic and sleek handbag. Winter usually requires more clothing in general so dont weigh yourself down with a heavy bag. Purchase a pink clutch with crisp metallic accents to complete your look.

Feathers- A perfect material to accent all of the soft colors and textures of winter is feathers.  Jackets embellished with pastel dyed chicken feathers, hair clips accented with ostrich plumes, and collars embroidered with rooster feathers are soft and naturally ladylike. Accessories- Pastel colored oversized flower clips are perfect to accentuate any hairstyle. Peach belts are great for cinching in at the waist or hugging the hips. A sea foam green fuzzy scarf will update any ensemble while keeping your neckline warm and snuggly.
