Warming up with feathers this Winter!

Brisk weather has finally arrived, chilling our bones and encouraging bundling up while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. After seemingly endless summers where ceiling fans offer little relief many people welcome the cold weather seasons. Not only does winter require extra layers of clothing to keep us insulated, the style of clothing also will vary from summer to winter.
Florescent colors, spaghetti strap tanks, and cut off shorts should be put away. Bust out those jeans, sweaters, scarfs and boots for a wintry ensemble. Check out how to warm up your look by incorporating a few key pieces.
Scarfs- Over the past few years scarfs have become a must have fall and winter accessory. They have evolved from wool, itchy and bulky to their modern day presence. Scarfs are crafted from everything from cotton to silk and have bridged the gap from a piece added only to insulate to a fashion accessory. Choose a colored or patterned scarf to add a splash of fun to your outfit. So weather it is a frigid day where dressing in layers is a necessity or a mild winter day where your scarf acts more as an accessory, there is sure to be a perfect scarf for every occasion.
Mittens- These fuzzy hand protectors are not only warm they are adorable. Wearing some type of mitten or glove at night will keep your hands protected from icy weather. Mittens are the perfect accessory for ice skating, night time coffee with friends, or any occasion that calls for leaving the warmth of your home or office.
Feathers- Ditch the metal accessories such as earrings and necklaces to keep the chill off this winter. Metal definitely looks cool, but one of its down falls in chilly weather is that it gets cold. Warm up your look with feather accessories. Wear earrings and necklaces made from craft feathers and natural feathers as an urban substitute for metal. Spotted Guinea feathers and pheasant feathers offer appealing natural patterns and colors to compliment your winter clothing.
Buttons- Wearing any top with buttons gives off a winter vibe. Oversized buttons and various types of clasps can keep you looking stylish and feminine once the cold weather strikes. Purchase jackets, vests and sweaters with button fasteners for the best results.
Boots- Of course our extremities such as our hands and feet are the first body parts to get cold. Lose the sandals and open toe shoes to keep your feet warm. Boots are not only a fantastic and stylish clothing item they are also one of the most logical items a woman could wear during winter. Whether you like heels, fur, flats, leather or wool there is a boot that has been created to suit your needs.
