2012 was a year of confident new trends. This year hair
took a front seat in the fashion world and stylists were very creative in
generating looks and accessories that any woman could wear. Check out the hottest hair trends of the past
year, and if you havent tried them yet, now is the time.
Hair Feathers- One
huge trend that overwhelmed the fashion world in 2012 was feather hair extensions. These soft feather plumes were fixed into
hair via clips to accent tresses and frame the face. Some women were conservative with their feather extension application
choosing a few simple feathers in natural colors, while others tested the
limits with numerous feathers applied in varying colors. Whatever your style preference, hair feathers were one of the
hottest trends of the year.
Deep Side Parts-
Middle parts were a thing of the past this year. It was all about deep-set side parts in
2012. Side parts can give off a
masculine quality but are easily feminized with the incorporation or curls,
blush and a rosy lip hue. This
strengthening style is great for the workplace or a confident night out.
Hair Adornments- Oversized
flowers, metallic crowning accents, and sequined hair accessories were all the
rage in 2012. Little girls and women
alike flocked to these adornments in record numbers. Ordinary styles such as ponytails and buns
benefited from these fancy embellishments.
Pony Tails-
Athletes and active women have always had a special place in their heart for
pony tails. This year however, pony
tails had limitless boundaries. They
were worn high with tons of volume or to the side with romantic curls. Some prefer them to have a naturally pulled
back appearance and others have gone to great measures to ensure that every
hair is sleek and in place. Whatever the style pony tails were a trendy look in
2012.
Bangs- Made to
frame the face and draw attention to the eyes, bangs have been a must have hair
trend this year. Whether thick, wispy,
straight, tapered, or slanted to the side bangs are a must have. Style has been instantly transformed by the
shortening of a few key strands of hair.
Bold Color- Dishwater blonde and lack luster browns were passed over this year for bolder shades. Although, one particular color wasn't a stand out many of the bold hues were trendy. Platinum blonde, rosy brunette and fiery red were popular this year. So whatever color family a woman found comfort in there was an emboldened shade that she could surely increase her style with.
